Root Canal

backgroundA root canal is a dental procedure that involves removing the infected or damaged pulp (soft tissue) inside a tooth, cleaning and shaping the root canals, and filling the space with a material called gutta-percha. The purpose of a root canal is to save a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted due to infection or severe decay.

During the procedure, the dentist will numb the area around the tooth and create an opening in the top of the tooth to access the pulp. We will then use specialized instruments to carefully remove the infected or damaged tissue and clean and shape the canals. Once the canals are thoroughly cleaned, they will be filled with gutta-percha and sealed with a temporary filling.

After the root canal treatment, the dentist may recommend placing a crown or other type of restoration on the tooth to protect it and restore its function. It is also important to maintain good oral hygiene habits to prevent further damage to the tooth and surrounding tissues.

Same Day Crowns

dental crownSame-day dental crowns, are dental crowns that are designed, fabricated, and placed in a single dental visit. Traditional dental crowns typically require two dental visits, with the first visit involving preparation of the tooth, taking an impression, and placing a temporary crown, and the second visit involving removal of the temporary crown and placement of the permanent crown.

With same-day dental crowns, the dentist uses CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology to create a digital impression of the tooth, design the crown on a computer, and then fabricate the crown in-office using a milling machine. The crown is then bonded to the tooth, completing the process in one appointment.

Same-day dental crowns offer several advantages over traditional crowns, including convenience, time-saving, and reduced need for a temporary crown. However, not all dental offices offer same-day crowns, and not all teeth are suitable for this type of restoration. Your dentist can evaluate your specific case and recommend the best treatment option for you.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a surgical component that is placed into the jawbone to support a replacement tooth or bridge. It is a popular and effective method of tooth replacement, providing a long-lasting and natural-looking solution for people who have lost one or more teeth due to injury, decay, or periodontal disease.

The process of getting a dental implant usually involves several steps. First, we will assess the patient’s oral health and determine if they are a good candidate for the procedure. Our expert dental assistants will need to take x-rays or other images to evaluate the condition of the jawbone and surrounding tissues.

If the patient is a good candidate for a dental implant, the dentist will surgically place the implant into the jawbone, where it will integrate with the bone over time in a process called osseointegration. This process can take several months, and the patient may need to wear a temporary replacement tooth during this time.

Once the implant has fully integrated with the bone, the dentist will attach an abutment to the implant, which serves as a connecting piece between the implant and the replacement tooth or bridge. Finally, the replacement tooth or bridge will be attached to the abutment, completing the dental implant process.

Dental implants are a highly successful and predictable tooth replacement option, with a success rate of over 95%. They offer several benefits over other tooth replacement options, including improved chewing ability, better oral health, and enhanced aesthetic appearance. Get the best dental implants with us now.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are a type of orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable trays to gradually move teeth into their correct position. They are a popular alternative to traditional metal braces, offering a discreet and comfortable option for people who want to straighten their teeth without the use of visible brackets and wires.

The process of getting clear aligners typically involves several steps. First, we will assess the patient’s oral health and determine if they are a good candidate for clear aligners. We will need to take x-rays or other images to evaluate the position of the teeth and determine the treatment plan.

If the patient is a good candidate for clear aligners, our doctor will take impressions of the teeth and use them to create a series of custom-made aligner trays. The patient will wear each tray for a certain amount of time, usually two weeks, before moving on to the next tray in the series.

Clear aligners are generally very effective at straightening teeth, but they do require a high level of patient compliance. The trays must be worn for at least 22 hours per day, and the patient will need to switch to a new tray every few weeks as the teeth gradually shift into their correct position. It is also important to maintain good oral hygiene habits and follow our instructions for cleaning and caring for the aligners.

Clear aligners offer several benefits over traditional metal braces, including improved aesthetics, increased comfort, and better oral hygiene. However, they may not be the best option for everyone, and it is important to discuss the pros and cons with a dental professional to determine the best treatment plan for your individual needs.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that involves using a bleaching agent to lighten the color of teeth. It is a popular option for people who want to improve the appearance of their smile by removing stains and discoloration caused by a variety of factors, including aging, tobacco use, certain foods and drinks, and poor dental hygiene.

There are several ways to whiten teeth, including in-office treatments performed by our dentist, at-home treatments using over-the-counter products, or a combination of both.

In-office teeth whitening typically involves applying a professional-strength bleaching gel to the teeth, which is activated by a special light. The treatment usually takes about an hour and can produce significant results in just one session.

At-home teeth whitening typically involves using a custom-fitted tray filled with a bleaching gel that is worn for a certain amount of time each day, usually for a few weeks. Over-the-counter products such as whitening strips or gels are also available but may be less effective and take longer to produce results.

Teeth whitening is generally safe and effective, but it may cause sensitivity or discomfort in some people. It is important to talk to a dentist before undergoing any teeth whitening procedure to ensure that it is the right option for your individual needs and to discuss any potential risks or side effects.
